About Rude Sterling:

“That it is every man’s interest to be pleased will need little proof: that it is his interest to please others experience will inform him.”

I usually describe myself as one of two things, a millennium man or Reno’s friendliest man. Whether it’s my hometown, Chicago, Atlanta, and now Reno, or what I do, soldiering, illustrating, welding, I’ve made myself at home, helping others and making friends along the way. Through of my fortune in friendships, I’ve had many opportunities to learn and add to the number of skills that I regularly employ within my local community.

We’re rapidly moving towards a world of digitized goods and relationships. While there are unique benefits to digital technologies (I built this website, I use AI periodically to schedule/plan), there are universal problems it does not and will not solve. The loneliness crisis, war, poverty, finding motivation to do or be better. While digital tools can be employed to assist in the creation of impressive works, they will sit in the shop without the real labor of many hands.

More often than anything, I excel at researching, opening doors, and creating convivial relationships that result in tangible outcomes. Need wedding decorations? Looking to build your team and get something out of the experience more than memories? Are you trying to figure out how to make something, anything? I’m your man.

More often than not, I design and build things. Here’s a brief summary of my skills. If it’s something I can’t do, time or skill-wise, I have a deep pool of connections to the Reno community which I’m glad to connect to each other.

I also enjoy teaching, children and adults alike. Come catch a lesson with me at The Generator!

If you stick around long enough, you just may see something shocking.
